So You Think the World has Gone Upside Down

Fred Snyder, working on his doctoral thesis at Wichita State University Ph.D candidate, completed his experiment in visual perception, after 30 days of having worn "inverted prisms", a set of special glasses, which turned his view upside down. After a few days, he found that his brain was able to adapt to the view, to the point that he was able to drive a car and watch movies.

Thousand watched Synder remove his glasses on NBC’s “We the People”  “We were not trying to prove anything” said Dr. N. H. Pronko, mentor and also appeared on program.  “We were just trying to learn something about how people see”

The experiment indicated the person saw the way he learned- that if Synder had worn the upsides-down glasses since birth, upside down vision would be normal

Snyder would later publish his findings in the 1952 book Vision with Spatial Inversion.
