Gold arrested for selling Nuclear Secrets
Harry Gold,
an American atomic research scientist believed to have assisted Klaus Fuchs
in passing nuclear secrets to the Soviets, was arrested by the FBI in
Philadelphia and charged with espionage, with the possibility of receiving the
death penalty. Gold's
confession implicated David Greenglass, who turned in his own sister, Ethel
Rosenberg, and her husband, Julius
