Better than the Bank

Today I went to my bank (Chase) and looked at the CD’s rates.   I had a few dollars and wanted something better than my money market account.  I expect that it won’t be long before they start charging me to hold my money.  The CD rates really disappointed me.  I mean .55% for a 5 year CD, and shorter durations paid less.  The 10 year rate was only 1.01%.  That means in ten years a $10,000 deposit will be worth $11,057.    Now I know that the Stock Market is doing well today, but I remember the Stock Market crashes in 2008, and 2001, so I am still a little apprehensive.

So I did a little research and found a couple of investment vehicles that offer interest rates that make sense without the risk of being in the stock market.  This way I can sleep at night.

1.      Sage Advantage  - This investment requires a minimum investment of $2,000.  Money invested in the account receives a 5% bonus with a minimum interest rate of 2%, so in the first year you are guaranteed to earn 7%.  Now you can earn more since the interest you earn is tied to an index.  You have 3 indexes to choose from, Declared, S&P 500, and Global.  You can choose 1 or split between all three.   Click here for details

2.       Flexmax  - This investment can be started with as little as $50 per month.  There are 3 Flexmax options, the Flexmax, Flexmax Plus, and the Flexmax 14.  The Flexmax Plus and Flexmax 14, pay a bonus on money invested.  Then they pay interest based on the S & P 500 index. 3.       MarketValue Index - This investment requires a minimum investment of $10,000.  The interest you earn is tied to an index with no limit. You earn 60% of S & P without any risk of loss.  You have 5 index options.   You can choose 1 or split between all 5.  Click here for details

What I like most about these investments is that you cannot lose money.  In addition you can add a Lifetime Income Rider so you can create an income that is guaranteed for Life.
